The Academic Programme
Our academic program is based on the vision for 21st century teaching and learning. We imagine to create the ideal learning environment –a place where teachers and students are all learners, the focus is more on generating questions and developing curiosity, understanding is more important than knowing, innovation and exploration are part of learning, children are taught to connect and learn with the world. The teaching and learning is based on skills like collaborative inquiry to solve real and relevant problems, creativity and innovation, critical thinking and problem solving and communication.
Delhi public School designs and implements its own curriculum and tries to ensure that the students and their teachers have as much flexibility as possible to foster child centered learning. The school follows the CBSE pattern syllabus within which flexibility of methodology and the use of experiential learning systems is strongly encouraged, which help eliminate the need to learn by rote and develop a healthy and positive attitude towards learning.
As the child progresses through the classes, the assessment is gradually modified to prepare external tests and competitive exams.
Academics
Pre-Primary Wing
Pre-primary is a paradise itself with little angels moving around the place so peacefully yet aware it’s a home for exploring, experiencing and experimenting. Learning is a joyful and fruitful experience for our little children.
Pre-primary school provides a caring, stimulating environment where each child is given time and opportunity to develop his/her physical, intellectual and emotional skills. Our well trained teachers deliver the curriculum in ways that foster a child’s uniqueness and individuality as they work towards common goals. Children are encouraged to become independent learners and to discover learning is fun through structured and spontaneous activities projected and taught on interactive digital boards.
Children benefit from a well designed, well organized and integrated indoor and outdoor environment.
Facilities at Pre-Primary
We have large sand pit, pool and a large play ground. Class rooms are bright, colorful and are complimented by theme based wall paintings. The school has also provided an activity room, workstation, mini library, toy corner and much more to enhance the child’s joy and interest in learning.
Primary Wing ( Grade I- Grade V )
Engaging The Learner
At this stage, students are exposed to a vibrant world of learning as they think independently and explore new concepts and accept greater challenges. We encourage students to explore transdisciplinary themes through the lines of inquiry and teach them how to express. The focus is on providing an electrifying environment through development of learner profile, attitude and skills of each child.
Middle School ( Grade VI- Grade VIII )
At this stage, the pace of academic demand is accelerated and students are gradually prepared to forge ahead. Students gain a strong foundation and develop into holistic beings. During these years, the smooth transition from childhood to adolescence is facilitated by a comprehensive, value- added education. The academic challenges become the focus as the students start preparing for the tests and formal exams. The syllabus has been designed to equip students with comprehensive and conceptual knowledge of the subjects.
